Good AoE agains mele classes? (W/Mo)
I currently like to farm hydras in hard mode. To do this I use a 55 W/Mo build with riposte. But I was wondering if there is anything else I could use that would be more effective.. But Keep in mind it's hard mode.
This is my build if some one would like to point out where I could improve.

So i herd monks where gurd
But no really, a Warrior should not be 55'ing, yes it is possible, not in anyway effective. Knowing A). Which Campaigns you have and B). What if any other class there are would help. If I am right there is a SoR build for Hydra farming.

I have all campaigns and EotN. And the 55 build works very well (as in I never drop below 55hp or 26 energy with up to 20 hydras on me) it just kills very slowly.
As to your second question I'm afraid I don't know what you mean.

It's been awhile since I farmed hydras.. I recall I used to use a stance build with axe/shield. Of course, after the expansions, I found more tasty stuff to farm than hydras. So I imagine there are easier ways now with all the new skills.

There are several easy ways to farm Hydras.
I actually ran a build with [Dolyak Signet] + shadow steaping for movement and killed very quickly.
Another build I ran was [Obsidian Flesh] , I assume your farming the Hydras in the desert or are you on Perdition Rock?
Though I haven't tried it I imagine you could farm pretty quickly with [radiation field] and [Gladiator's Defense], you would need [Bonetti's Defense] for energy and probably [armor of earth] for defence though you could skip that with some good self healing.
In the end there are tonnes of builds that work, it really depends on how you like to play, agro 3 kill and move on or agro the whole map and slowly slaughter them.

I farm Hydras in the desert, but a friend told me the ones near Southern Shiverpeaks drop more tomes. And how I play my current build is to slowly aggro the entire map, and kill them very slowly. I don't mind farming in other places that are more profitable, and I also have a Dervish but I guess that's another forum.

Attributes / Justification
8 Healing : 55 Necro uses 8 Healing, should be good enough for you, too
8 Protection : 55 Necro uses 8 Healing, same as above
0 Smiting : you get 1e per hit with 0 Smiting, points spent better in other atts
11+1+3 Strength: Doly Sig lasts 20 sec w/ a 20 sec cooldown, infinite Doly FTW
7+3 Tactics: Fuels Riposte/Deadly Riposte
6+3 Swordsmanship: lets you use a max dmg sword
Equipment:
+1 Strength Helm with Sup Strength Rune
+3 Swordsmanship Rune
+3 Tactics Rune
2 more of the cheapest Warrior Sup Runes that you can find - DO NOT USE ABSORBTION as it DOES NOT incur a -75hp penalty, making you more than 105 hp before using the -50 Cesta
Full set of Sentinel's Insignias (with 15 Strength that's an extra +20 AL vs. Elemental to soak up some of the Hydras' Ele spells), or Radiant Insignias (for +8e), whichever one works for you
15-22 dmg +5e or +15% dmg while Enchanted, Enchantments last 20% longer sword, use whatever Hilt upgrade you want, but as Hydras are Elementalists, I advise AGAINST Elemental sword hilts. Might be best to have both a Sundering and Zealous to swap out between, or a Vampiric if you think VS is going to counter the -1 degen.
-50 hp Grim Cesta
Skills:
[Protective [email protected]][Vigorous [email protected]][Dolyak [email protected]][Hundred [email protected]][[email protected]][Deadly [email protected]][Essence Bond][Balthazar's [email protected]]
Usage:
Pick a mob as a target, get right outside of aggro and cast Vigorous Spirit, followed by Prot Spirit. Run into their aggro, watching for the Meteor cast, and hit Dolyak Signet just before the cast finishes. You shouldn't get KD'd, but if you do, no biggie since you pre-Protted. Proceed to beat the hell out of the Hydras, spamming Hundred Blades, which in connection with Vigorous Spirit, should heal you instead of wasting Energy on HB. Spam Riposte and Deadly Riposte as much as possible. Maintain Prot Spirit and Vigorous Spirit.
This should provide much more efficient killing/healing. I haven't tested it, but it came to mind when I saw the post...

You could go with the newly updated Warrior Elite skill 'Defy Pain', This reduces damage by 10 at 15 str. So this skill + Prot + 100hp = invincibility

Nice thought Kaitoa, but remember, [[Defy [email protected]] also grants you bonus HP, which completely neutralizes the Prot+100hp=Invicibility portion of your equation. With [[Defy [email protected]] up, he would have 355 HP, meaning that his Prot Spirit would reduce the damage to 36, and Defy Pain would reduce it further to 26, *in THEORY*. I'm not sure whether the Defy Pain reduction takes place before or after the reduction from Prot Spirit. Either way, it's a moot point, because Defy Pain grants more HP, which means he wouldn't be a 55 Wammo anymore... as a 55 he'd take 5 damage per hit, which is *easily* countered by the 13 HP/attack heal that Vigorous Spirit gives...
Nice thought tho...

[Protective Spirit][Shield of Absorption][Shielding Hands][Triple Chop][Cyclone Axe][Whirlwind Attack][Dolyak Signet][Balthazar's Spirit]
Aggro everything you can see, keep enchants up, and just spam AoE attacks on them.
10 Protection, 11 Axe, 10 Strength, 1 Smiting
